Terms of use
Last updated 19 August 2026
The short version. The Lords shows you what Parliament publishes. We didn't write that information and we can't guarantee it's complete or current. The app is independent and has nothing to do with the UK Parliament.
These terms apply to your use of The Lords ("the app"), published by SVPPLY&.CO LIMITED ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11377371. By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms.
Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Where these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, Apple's agreement takes precedence.
01The app is independent
The Lords is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or produced by the UK Parliament, the House of Lords, or any government department. We are not a source of official parliamentary information and nothing in the app should be treated as an official parliamentary publication.
02Where the information comes from
The app displays information published by the UK Parliament through its public data services, made available under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0. This includes information about members, their registered interests, speeches recorded in Hansard, division records and the progress of bills.
Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.
03Accuracy
We take care to display Parliament's data faithfully, but we do not create it and we cannot guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to date. Parliament's own services may be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable, and records are sometimes corrected after publication.
Membership of the House of Lords changes regularly. Where a figure or a record matters to you — for professional, legal, journalistic or academic purposes — please verify it against Parliament's own published sources before relying on it.
The app is provided for information only. It is not legal, financial or professional advice.
04Purchases
The app may offer optional in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's terms. We do not process payments and do not receive your payment details.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. If you want a refund, request it through Apple directly. Purchases can be restored on your devices using the Restore Purchases option in the app.
05Using the app reasonably
You agree not to:
- Use the app to harass, threaten or intimidate any person, including any member of the House of Lords
- Attempt to extract data from the app in bulk, or use automated means to access our servers at a volume that affects other users
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
- Present information taken from the app as an official parliamentary source, or in a way that misrepresents what it says
06Intellectual property
The app's name, design, interface, written content and code belong to us. The parliamentary data displayed within it belongs to the UK Parliament and is used under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.
07Availability
We may update, change or withdraw the app or any of its features at any time. Parts of the app depend on services operated by Parliament and by third parties, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
08Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on information displayed in the app, from the app being unavailable, or from any decision you take on the basis of what the app shows you.
If you use the app for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.
09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
